Finally! After many months planning, writing, discussing, devising and pulling our hair out, we have officially launched Playground, our new and exciting short film to be released in 2015.
Playground will represent a shift in production values, approach and style. We have already acquired a larger arsenal of equipment, will be expanding our production crew both pre, during and post filming, and will aim to become more creative with our camera movements, angles and the overall construction and deployment of scenes. While we are proud and look back fondly on our previous shorts, we understand that the only way to cement yourself as a film company or organisation is to keep improving, to learn from past mistakes, to keep building, and to get better and better. You never stop learning. Playground is going to be bigger, bolder and more emphatic. We want to explode it on the screen. And that we will do.
As director, I am excited about the challenge. I want to out-do myself and also exceed external expectation. I believe we have the script, the crew, the resources, the skill, and the enthusiasm to pull off something special. I am itching to get further into the pre-production process.
We will keep the plot details and story elements secret for now. For your own benefit really. This will be the sort of film where it's better to go in fresh and to go along with the ride. No spoilers here.
All I will divulge is that it's a horror film which occurs at night, is set outdoors, involves more than one character, and yes, features another one of our trademark long take scenes. Check out the poster and see if you can pick up any clues as to what the film is about or what's going on.
Stay tuned throughout the rest of 2014 and into 2015 for updates. We will be posting video updates and messages, behind-the-scenes photographs, and will share exciting announcements reguarly in the lead up to our shoot, which will be well within the first half of 2015. You will find these updates on the website as well as Facebook and Twitter.
For now, happy surfing on our website!
